Weekly Reports

We’ve got some grinders on our player teams, these top dogs keep one eye on the game and one eye on HypSports roster. We’ve invited a few to share with us through the season their weekly take on their sport of choice. Here are their unique views on which players to watch, who to buy and how to play.

Week 1: Three RBs to Get You Up and Running

If you know anything about fantasy sports, you know that the running backs can be your bread and butter. This too is the case when talking about your HypSports lineup. Here are a couple RBs that are guaranteed to bring you success this upcoming football season.

The Power of a Bear

The first player that needs to be showcased in my book is the Chicago Bear’s Jordan Howard. This guy can be summed up in one-word: dominate. Coming off a great rookie year in which he averaged 5.2 yards per carry and almost 1,400 rushing yards. Howard is sure to replicate that success in year two. With the quarterback situation still in disarray for the Bears, I expect Jordan Howard to be the workhorse for Chicago’s offense and your HypSports team.

A New Guy in Town

When planning for fantasy, the biggest gamble is taking a chance on a rookie. If you are looking for some new blood, look no further than Leonard Fournette. Missing a couple preseason games did nothing to this guy’s stock. Mark my word: He will be the Jaguars offense this year. With his stunning stats at LSU and 41 TDs in 35 games, including him in your lineup is a no brainer. Fournette is an all-around back that can earn your points both on the ground and receiving out of the backfield. The rumor of him being a potential rookie of the year is well deserved, and I look forward to seeing the points he racks up.

Heeeeeeeeeeee’s Baaaack

If you say you love football and you don’t know the name Marshawn Lynch, you are lying to yourself. Mr. Beast Mode himself is suiting up once again with the Oakland Raiders. With an already well-oiled offense, Lynch brings consistency with him. If you look at the trends over his years in the NFL, 200 carries this year is a reasonable expectation. Marshawn’s size makes him a goal line monster. Look for him to be a point grabber especially on third downs and in the red zone. Some might say he is 31 and has lost steps along the way. I say it plain and simple – add this man to your lineup!

In my opinion, these three backs are sure to bring you some HypSports’ success. Remember that your running back is vital to you earning some real points. Look for these three and you will be sitting on easy street in both H2H Leagues and Solo Challenge.

Week 1 NFL Preview: Quarterbacks Perfect for your HypSports Lineup

With the preseason winding down, that can mean only one thing – it’s almost time to get prepared for HypSports football. Though there are many strategies in setting the perfect lineup, I have always let my quarterbacks become my fantasy point go-getters. Just like in the NFL, it is hard to get the Aaron Rodgers of the league on your team; but this preseason has shed some light on a couple of new faces as well as some old sleepers.

Here are a couple quarterbacks that have shown major promise in the preseason and might be rather easy to snag into your HypSport lineups come Sept 5th.

Look Out for Cleveland…..Yeah, I Said It!

The Cleveland Browns had a rather successful draft this past offseason. Among other talent, the pick I was most impressed with is DeShone Kizer. The Rookie QB out of Norte Dame has potential to be a duel threat in Cleveland both through the air and rushing. With over 300 yds in the preseason, Kizer might be a great QB to take a chance on. Also, note that he is getting some key receivers back like Corey Coleman and Josh Gordon. Things can become rather interesting in Cleveland. The glory with HypSports is upgrading players. With the right owner, Kizer can become an every game point getter

Fly Eagles Fly

I have to admit I wasn’t really a believer in Carson Wentz last year, but I might be ready to eat crow. He was a fantasy upset last year never breaking 15 points in most leagues. This preseason Wentz had a 69% passer rating and looks impressive to me. The big reason I’d say to look at Wentz would have to be his receiving core. The Eagles signing of Alshon Jeffrey, who is a fantasy beast, will add to what I think might be a big year for Wentz.

Move Over Romo

After one heck of a Rookie season, Dak Prescott is now the man in Dallas, and rightfully so. Dak can offer so much to your HypSports lineup. He is equipped with top notch receivers, plays behind arguably the best offensive line in the game, and he can run the ball! What more do you need? Coming off a stellar 81% passer rating in the preseason, the only red flag might be that the Dallas Cowboys is a run first offense. However, if you are looking for a guy that will earn you some HypCash week in, week out – Dak is your man.

Quarterbacks can make or break your line up, and you should really take your time while analyzing them. I would never say pass on a Brady or Rodgers for your HypSports roster, but if you are looking for some great sleepers that can be easily be beasts in Season Showdown, I would recommend these three.

NFL Preseason Rookie Report: Some Rookies to Rock Your Lineup

It is that time of year again when the grass is freshly cut, and Sundays are spent on the couch. Football season is back! This year will be a little different however because, like many, I will be playing daily on my HypSports app.

For anyone trying to build the ideal roster, looking at a new season can be stressful. There are so many new names to filter during the NFL preseason, few people know what to think of all the rookies. But fret not, I’m here to help. Here are three rookies that I think will rock your HypSports lineup come September 5th.

A QB in Chicago?

Ok, I need to preface this section by being completely honest. I am a Bears fan, and I am not ashamed to admit it. That aside, a rookie that has been generating a lot of buzz around the league is Mitch Trubisky. This rookie is listed as the second man in Chicago but has outplayed Mike Glennon in the first two preseason showings. After just two games he is 24/33 with two TDs and 226 yds. This kid is definitely turning heads, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets named the starter sooner than later. If you collect him for your HypSports Football lineup, I’m confident he will produce.

Believe in Christian McCaffery.

The Carolina Panthers, in my opinion, has been in the market for a marquee RB for quite some time. I think that time might be now. Christian McCaffrey, the rookie out of Stanford, is starting to stand out in the football world. His last game he carried the football for 33 yds on just three attempts and caught the ball for 39 yds. Throw in a touchdown and this guy had a pretty complete showing. There is little doubt that McCaffery should live up to the hype and become the household RB in Carolina. Do yourself a favor and throw him in your HypSports line up, you’ll look like an expert and gain a ton of points in the process.

A Titan of a Wide Receiver.

There were so many RBs showcased in the NFL draft this past year, you would have had to dig pretty hard to find a Wide Receiver. The Tennessee Titans did just that by drafting Corey Davis out of Western Michigan. I know you might be calling me crazy, due to the fact we haven’t seen him in NFL action yet, but hear me out. The Tennessee Titans lack a true 1 slot receiver, Corey Davis is bound to fit that position. Upon clearing injury, he will be good to go come week one and so will you if you decide to start him. At 6’3”, Davis is a huge target for Mariota to hit, and I’m positive you will hear the name of Davis in the same conversation as Mike Evans. Corey Davis is a no-brainer rookie to add to your HypSports roster.

Well there you have it, these three rookies are should help set your HypSports lineup on fire come September 5th. Are there any rookies you think are a sure bet? Who has impressed you in the preseason? Until next time, see you on the gridiron!

Football Preseason: 3 Reasons You Should Play HypSports this NFL Football Season

NFL football. It seems like the Super Bowl only ended 193 days, 16 hours, 37 minutes ago, but who’s counting.

Okay, maybe I am counting. Maybe I am just a little excited for this season. Can you blame me?

Why am I excited? I’m excited for many reasons: the thrill of the game; my favorite teams on TV; the bonding with family and friends; good food; HypSports; many reasons.

Did I say HypSports? (Gasp.) Whaaat? I’m writing an article for the HypSports website, and I’m excited about HypSports? I know. Shocking.

But, let me lay out it for you. Here are three reasons you should play — and be excited for — HypSports this football season:

Reason #1: It’s Not Fantasy Football
Okay, I fully admit, I play fantasy football. I’ve played fantasy football for the past 15 years. It’s fun. But, it’s also time-consuming. HypSports is not time-consuming. HypSports allows you to build rosters, compete and collect rewards without having to reserve a lot of time out of your day.

On the elevator at work? Want to avoid awkward silence or conversation while you’re on the elevator? Simply open the HypSports app, collect your latest rewards, check your world ranking, see what free agents are available — and BAM — you’re now on the 2nd floor. And people say you’re lazy for not taking the stairs. Little do they know you just added Tom Brady to your lineup.

Reason #2: Real Players
Nope, it’s not fantasy football. But you are playing with real players. So, whether you have Tom Brady or Tom Savage (sorry Texans fans) as your quarterback, you have a little extra incentive to watch those “other” games on Sunday.

Reason #3: Lots of Recognition
Maybe it’s because I’m getting older or because I recently had to throw away my little league trophies to make room in my garage, but — darn it, I want recognition.

Luckily, HypSports is here to help. That’s because HypSports allows you to compete and instantly get rewarded. For instance, when playing the HypSports Baseball Season this year, I often found myself opening the app to another bounty of trophies and a higher ranking in the game.

Pretty cool, huh? You can even see where you rank compared to your friends.

So even if your boss won’t give you recognition, HypSports will.

In Summary:
Now I think about it, the three reasons above are applicable to any sports or e-sports season when you play HypSports. Not only football season. But as a fan of football, and a new fan of HypSports, I’m excited to see my favorite game for baseball and esports make the upcoming football season even more exciting for me and my friends.
