It’s that time of the week again, and Wednesday night NHL rivalry is in full swing. For this week, I want to take a look at tonight’s match-up of Montreal vs. Nashville. The Canadiens and Predators both have a lot going for them in terms of production, grit and skill. So who should you include tonight in your HypSports lineup for this tough matchup? Here are my thoughts, let me know if you agree.

Third Star Ryan Johansen, C Nashville
One of the most exciting things about watching the Nashville Predators – they play great team hockey. Although many teams have one or two standout stars, Nashville is a group of some of the best role players in the league. And near the top of any conversation is Ryan Johansen. Coming off of 2 goals and 3 assists in the last 3 games, Johansen is definitely pulling his weight. I’d look to see him gather a couple points in tonight’s matchup while seeing a lot of ice time. It is a safe bet to start Johansen tonight.

Second Star Brendan Gallagher, RW Montreal
Without being completely biased, I have to say that I love Brendan Gallagher. He is the new breed of hockey: small, quick, and gritty. Brendan’s style has found him success in the last 3 games, contributing 2 goals to the Montreal tally. Gallagher might have his work cut out for him while facing Nashville’s pretty awesome defense but, I’d look for Gallagher to have a big night. He is definitely worth a start.

First Star Pekka Rinne, G Nashville
This is a rather simple pick, Pekka Rinne is a primetime goalie that strives for big games. The decision for the first star would be a lot harder if Carey Price was suiting up but, Rinne definitely deserves the limelight. Coming off three games with over 90 saves combined, Rinne has declared his dominance in the league. With a save percentage of .921 and 2 wins in the last 3 games, Rinne is a no-brainer for your lineup.

The Unknown
Will Montreal goalie Carey Price be in net tonight? I’d love to hear what you think.
