Halloween week has been about haunts, scares, and trick-or-treats. Just like Halloween, the NHL is full of solid treats and a few tricks that shouldn’t be lacing up each night. With that said, we return after a short absence with this week’s Good, Great, and Ugly.
For this week’s good player, we travel to San Jose. Joe Thorton has proven in his career that he is a shark with some bite. With multiple 20+ goal seasons, Thorton is a pretty consistent player. Even with talk of him being a headache in the dressing room, there is a reason he hasn’t been shipped out of San Jose. Already with six assists this season, it looks like this year will be another strong year for Joe. If you are looking for a good player that can earn you some points, Joe Thorton is a good selection.
Time to show the protectors of the net some love. This week’s great is none other than Washington Capital goalie, Braden Holtby. Holtby has won at least 41 games each season for the last three seasons. Along with a great GAA (Goals Against Average), Holtby also leads the league in wins since 2013. Braden is a solid goalkeeper and a great addition to your HypSports lineup.
This week’s ugly comes from Broad Street itself. Philadelphia winger Matt Read is having a rough start. With three seasons of less than 12 goals, the RW seems to be heading towards the door and away from his career. In this young 2017 season, Read only has one point in any stat column. For your HypSports lineup, there are better wingers to start.
